HellO,
I'm Lųc, a photographer based in Barcelona, originally from Marseille.
I added the dot to my name, Lųc, inspired by the Vietnamese meaning of "Lục," which holds a special significance for me.
Ih8 Camera is a playful nod to the Hi8 video format and to the world of gear obsession. You can find the same phenomenon in music: people talking mainly equipment while never taking the time to develop their ear.
I mainly shoot with analog cameras and develop my black-and-white film myself. Over the years, through practice and experimentation, I have developed my own process for achieving the look and quality I seek in my black-and-white work. For color photography, I usually collaborate with a lab.
The artists who have influenced and inspired me the most include Eikoh Hosoe, Mo Yi, Ken Domon, Sergio Larraín, Antoine d'Agata, Tokyo Rumando, Omar Rodríguez-López, Nobuyoshi Araki, and Masahisa Fukase.
